I’ve been on a 3 month adventure – trying to understand the best way to coordinate all one’s marketing assets – websites, speaking engagements, networking groups, social media networking, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn groups, etc. etc. etc. and oh by the way Google+. I had a gut feeling that having a company page on Google+ was important for us and my clients – even though the evidence was less than compelling based upon the activity I was receiving.
3months we spent – meeting with seasoned SEO vendors, PPC vendors, online marketing gurus, traditional advertising whizzes, and the punchline came today.
Are you one of those companies (like us) that has a Google Docs page, a Google Places page and a Google+ page??? Guess what – the giant is on the move – these sites are integrating and the power of 1+1+1 I can promise you will be a lot more than 3.
How do I know this?? Our local search partner validated it for me this morning. Certified with Google – they have a bat phone behind the lines and have been watching the integration with a few clients. I don’t mention their name here for 2 reasons – one, I’d like to talk with you and get your thoughts on all things business marketing and two, I’m not sure if this would get them in hot water.
So – lessons for today… 1) have a great network of experts so you don’t have to pretend to know everything 2) do your homework, and then do it again every few months.
